General InformationThe Danville Optimist Youth Soccer League (DOYSL) offers both boys & girls travel soccer programs. The goal for the teams in the program is to challenge the players with advanced training and allow them to experience a higher level of player development and competition.
Team DetailsTravel teams are expected to roster 11 to 13 players for U12 and younger teams (8v8 competition), and 14 to 16 players for U13 and older teams (11v11 competition). Boys teams will be playing in the Central Indiana Youth Soccer League (CIYSL - www.ciysl.org) and the girls teams will be playing in the Greater Indiana Regional League of Soccer (G.I.R.L.S - www.girlsinsoccer.com). Both of the leagues offer "B" (development), "A" (competitive), "AA" (highly competitive), and "AAA" (premier) levels of play. The level of play at which the team will compete will be determined after the tryouts and the teams have been formed.
**Double-rostering between Travel and Recreation Plus (Rec+) divsions is not allowed.
Tryout Equipment RequiredAll players are to bring cleats, shin-guards, eyewear restraints (if necessary), proper clothing for possible in-climate weather, plenty of water or sports drink, and a soccer ball (with the players' name on the ball) to the tryouts.

While it is not known exactly what division that the teams will play in, the possible geographical range of the games may include: Speedway, Zionsville, Lafayette, Logansport, Kokomo, Muncie, New Castle, Shelbyville, Columbus, Seymour, Bloomington, Mooresville, and Terre Haute.
